Hard-Facing (Cobalt and Nickel Base)
 


The Polyface® 600 Series
 


Polyface® 601 (DC-RP) - A cobalt base alloy with outstanding resistance to abrasion, heat and corrosion. This alloy has a low coefficient of friction and aquires a high polish in service. Not recommended for applications involving impact or where crack-free weld deposits are required. Uses include the overlay of extrusion screw conveyors, valve systems and bearings.

Polyface® 606 (DC-RP) - The most versatile of the cobalt base alloys, exhibiting high tensile strength, metal-to-metal wear, corrosion and erosion properties. Polyface® 606 has exceptional resistance to thermal shock and maintains its hardness at high temperatures. Uses include overlays on valves, hot shear blades, punches, chain-saw bars and components in molten zinc baths (galvanizing).

Polyface® 612 (DC-RP) - Combining outstanding hardness, toughness and resistance to corrosion and heat, the properties of this cobalt-based alloy lie between series 601 and 606. Overlays resist abrasion, corrosion and moderate impact and acquire a high polish in service. Uses include overlays on screw conveyors and augers in the rubber and plastic industry, gas and diesel engine components, extrusion screws and various valves.

Polyface® 620-C (DC-RP) - For surfacing and rebuilding of Hastelloy® X, especially when it is necessary to maintain the composition and properties of the original material. Excellent resistance to oxidation, corrosion, thermal shock and fatigue. Uses include overlays for furnace and incinerator parts, pollution-control equipment and petrochemical components.

Polyface® 621 (DC-RP) - The least crack-sensitive of all the cobalt base alloys. Polyface® 621 will work harden the Rc 45+ with excellent impact and metal-to-metal wear qualities, especially at high temperatures. Uses include overlays on hot extrusion and forging dies, trimmers, punches and hot shear blades.

Polyface® 639 (DC-RP) - A nickel/chrome/boron alloy with excellent resistance to impact, wear and corrosion at high temperatures. Uses include overlays on valves, glass-plant components, draw and forming dies and shafts.

Polyface® 640 (DC-RP) - A nickel/chrome/boron alloy with high resistance to wear and corrosion. Uses include overlays of pump sleeves, glass-paint components and cold forming dies and punches.

Polyface® 641 (DC-RP) - A nickel/chrome/boron alloy with high hot hardness, high abrasion resistance and very high resistance to corrosion. Non-galling with excellent metal-to-metal wear. Uses include overlays of extrusion screws, components for plastic injection molds and hot pump and steam valve parts.

Polyface® 670-C (DC-RP) - A nickel-base alloy used to join and overlay Hastelloy® W, dissimilar cobalt and nickel-pase alloys and other alloys used in high-temperature service.

Polyface® 672-C (DC-RP) - A low carbon version of the 673 product, it is more ductile and crack-resistant when used for fabrication. Primarily used for welding Hastelloy? C-276 to itself and to many other nickel-based and stainless alloys.

Polyface® 673 (DC-RP) - A Nickel/chrome/moly alloy that resists high heat, impact corrosion, metal-to-metal wear and thermal shock. This alloy is also available in composite form as Polyface® 673-C. deposits rapidly work-harden from Rc 18-22 as-welded to Rc 40-42. Uses of these alloys include overlays of Hastelloy C, hot forge dies, trimmers and punches, hot shear blades, extrusion dies and blast-furnace bleeder valves.

Polyface® 676-C (DC-RP) - A high moly/cobalt/nickel alloy for extreme corrosion resistance and wear-facing applications in the chemical industry. Uses include the joinin and overlaying of Hastelloy® B-type alloy.
